918 Spyder: The New King Of The Hill?
In the May 2012 CAR MAG article by Georg Kacher he explores the future Porsches… from 918 to Pajun… He writes, “The hottest — and hardest to get — future Porsche sports car will be the 918 Spyder, which is well along in its development two years after it debuted as a concept at the Geneva auto show. Conceived as a successor to the 2004 Carrera GT, the 918 Spyder aims to offer even better performance. That’s no easy task…”

A review article in The Telegraph by Chris Knapman tells the story… An excerpt reads, “Welcome to the wonderful world of 911 convertibles, a land first visited with the 911SC 30 years ago. It’s a formula that shouldn’t work – the 911′s rear-engined configuration has always made it a sports car with an edge, which in a coupé makes sense. Chop the roof off and what you’re left with is a slightly wobbly edge, like a tent that’s missing a pole…”

Born in Stuttgart on December 11, 1935, and known to friends as “Butzi” - Ferdinand Alexander Porsche will be long remembered

As a member of the eponymous Porsche family his name was on the door, as it might be said, but it was the cars Ferdinand Alexander Porsche will be remembered for long after his passing, yesterday, at the age of 76.

Indeed, the most important of those products only recently reappeared in its seventh-generation form, the iconic 911 that still looks much like it did when first unveiled at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show.
